Bills McGaugh Funeral Home Obituary Notice
Mrs. Barbara Shaw Armstrong, age 87, of Lewisburg passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at NHC Oakwood.
A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Shaw and Mary Ellen Leonard Shaw. She retired from Heil Quaker Corp as a receptionist with many years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Marshall County Democratic Party and the VFW Women's Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clinton Armstrong (1989).
Survivors include two daughters; Kathy A. (Wayne) Ingram and Martha Armstrong. One son; Robert Clinton (Gael) Armstrong.Three sisters; Mary Elizabeth Cooper of Nashville, TN, Betty Jo Allin of Chapel Hill and Virginia Greenfield of Miami, FL. Five Grandchildren, Five Great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Armstrong will be conducted on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 4:00 PM at Lone Oak Cemetery.Tom Sumners officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of NHC Oakwood or Caris Hospice.
