Bills McGaugh Funeral Home Obituary Notice
Mr. Daniel Philip (Phil) Whitaker II age 55, of Lewisburg passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Marshall Medical Center.
A native of Lewisburg, he was the son of Attorney Dan P. Whitaker and Gwen Coble Whitaker. He was a member of the Lewisburg Elks Lodge, a 1977 Honors Graduate of UT- Knoxville with membership in the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and a member of The First United Methodist Church in Lewisburg.
Survivors include his loving wife Elaine Sharp Whitaker, three sons John Franklin Whitaker of Kalamazoo, MI, William Sharp Whitaker of Augusta, GA and Daniel Phillip Whitaker III of Lewisburg. Also surviving are two brothers Joseph (Rebecca) "Whit" Whitaker of Nashville, Robert L. Whitaker of Spring Hill, TN and three sisters Tracy (Will) Whitaker Allen of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mary Gwen Whitaker and Allisa (Howard) K. Warner both of Lewisburg.
Funeral services for Mr. Whitaker will be conducted on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Lewisburg with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin on Thursday, May 28th from 4:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at the funeral home and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
